William Shakespeare's Steampunk Juliet - Costume Design

Starting our first project that we do breathe life into this fine affair, with toil and troubles, problems overcome to create life in our Juliet. Of Steampunk design she will shine brighter than olden stars kissed in Sir Williams golden words. Our first project at Cleveland College of Art and Design on the BA(HONS) Production Design Degree coarse. Romeo and Juliet meets Steampunk and British Youth Culture

Going back to the design process taking inspiration from other British designers to draw in the British Youth Culture elements. This design being influenced by the Architect Richard Rogers, tailoring his design ethic of inside out. The dress being fashioned by the what would be essentially the understructure of a Victorian dress, it's under cage

Taking the pencil design further by adding colour and referencing more of today's youth culture by using Katy Perry. The back ground is one of Richard Rogers commercial complexes which looks far more like an industrial power plant.
